The agreement runs for another three years and includes an option for a two-year extension.

RheinCargo has extended its rail shunting and logistics contract with Shell for the tank farms in Ludwigshafen and Flörsheim.

The cooperation between RheinCargo and Shell has been in place since April 2020. RheinCargo provides shunting and loading services at the two sites and has added further operational tasks during the contract period.

The company’s scope now includes support for on-site processes, monitoring of ship loading and unloading, and access and control tasks. The services are handled through RheinCargo’s Factory Transport division.

RheinCargo’s Factory Transport division employs around 115 staff and provides shunting and logistics services for industrial and private siding customers at eight locations in Germany. Its activities include shunting, filling and monitoring work, rail infrastructure maintenance, and other operational services linked with railway operations.
