DB Cargo Italia is another customer for EffiShunter 1000 locomotives from CZ LOKO, a very popular manufacturer in Italy. With over 100 locomotives sold in this market, it is the most successful export market for the Czech manufacturer.
Two locomotives from the contract will be delivered during the summer of 2023 and two more by the end of the year. They will join other Italian operators using these locomotives, designated as D744 in Italy, such as Mercitalia Shunting & Terminal, Mercitalia Rail, Tper (Dinazzano Po), EVM Rail, Ferrovie Nord Milano, Ferrovia Adriatico Sangritana, Rail Traction Company or Transporto Ferroviario Toscano.
EffiShunter 1000 is an EU Stage V diesel-electric locomotive with a Caterpillar C32 engine, an output of 895 kW, maximum towing capacity of 262 kN and a maximum speed of 100 km/h.
