The service will operate two round trips per week, with one outbound and one return connection, and can increase to three round trips in the short term.

FHP Intermodal (CFI) will launch a twice-weekly intermodal rail service linking northern Italy with Bari and Catania from 9 March 2026.

The multi-customer service consolidates volumes on a single train product, connecting northern hubs with Apulia and Sicily. Freight from Fiorenzuola d’Arda and Forlì (Villa Selva) will move south via Foggia and Bari, with Catania as the final destination.

The trains are configured for different load profiles and product categories, using wagons that can be adapted to operational requirements. The service is designed to provide a continuous intermodal link supporting flows to and from Sicily.

FHP Intermodal operates four intermodal terminals in Italy: Incoronata (Apulia), Piedimonte San Germano (Lazio), Villa Selva and Fiorenzuola d’Arda (Emilia-Romagna). The company manages more than 500,000 m² of operating space, over 17 km of track connected to the national rail network, and more than 30,000 m² of covered warehouse space.
