In the first quarter of this year, the PKP CARGO Group transported 23.3 million tonnes of freight, a decrease of approximately 2.6 million tonnes year-on-year, while the volume of freight transported reached 6,417 million tkm.
"The seasonality of our industry and the increase in traction energy prices do not allow us to rest for a moment. The published preliminary results confirm our joint efforts - the PKP CARGO Group's revenues increased by 34% compared to the previous year, and after several years of losses we have also achieved a high net profit," said Dariusz Seliga, President of PKP CARGO S.A.
The presented financial results are preliminary estimates obtained during the preparation of the consolidated financial statements for the first three months of 2023 and may be subject to changes. The Company will present final data on the results achieved in the consolidated interim report for the first quarter of 2023, to be published on 26 May 2023.
