The service links Cinérites’ quarry at Voutré in Mayenne, western France, with rail platforms at Bonneuil-sur-Marne and Trappes in the Île-de-France region near the French capital.

Cinérites Transport et Logistique has opened its Voutré Double Freight multimodal service to third-party cargo after the opening of its Bonneuil-sur-Marne site southeast of Paris.

Cinérites is part of Groupe Carrières de l’Ouest, a French aggregates and quarrying business. Its Voutré Double Freight system was built around a two-way rail flow: aggregates move by train from the Voutré quarry to construction and distribution platforms around Paris, while return trains carry excavated material back to Voutré for use in quarry redevelopment.

The company is now offering the same rail-road system to other shippers. The service combines trunk rail haulage with road transport for first- and last-mile movements, allowing cargo to move between the Paris region and western France without relying entirely on long-distance trucking.

The Bonneuil-sur-Marne platform gives the service access to the eastern side of the Paris logistics market, while Trappes serves the western side of the region. Voutré provides the western anchor point for onward road distribution towards France’s Grand Ouest, covering Brittany, Pays de la Loire and neighbouring western markets.

Italian logistics company Metrocargo is already using the service. Cinérites transports goods for Metrocargo by rail from Bonneuil-sur-Marne to Voutré, after which they continue by road to destinations in western France.

Cinérites said the terminal operation can unload and reload 50 containers in four hours. According to the company, one train carrying 50 boxes can replace up to 50 truck movements on the road.
